I speak at churches, schools, youth events, and conferences on the subjects and themes of my books. I frequently lead break-out seminars with Blackaby Ministries International across the country. As well as local events, I’ve been able to speak internationally in the countries such as the Philippines, South Africa, Botswana, Norway, Brazil, and Greece. Along with spiritual topics, I also enjoy visiting schools and classrooms and sharing my story as a writer and my love for reading.
He was confident, humorous, and knowledgeable of his subject and his audience. In fact, he was appealing, not only to the youth at the rally, but to the many adults in attendance because of his humility and transparency. I was very encouraged to discover that the legacy of ministers, speakers and writers is very secure through this 3rd generation of BlackabysDeb Harrell
“Christ and Culture” – We live in a Hollywood world. We are bombarded with media, much of it poisonous, at every turn. Pulling from my PhD studies in Christianity and the Arts and his experience as a novelist, I explore how Christians can be a light in the midst of a media-driven world. I look both at how we can avoid being contaminated by the prevalence of trashy entertainment, but also how can Christians use pop-culture as one of the most effective tools for spreading the Gospel and engaging with the world.
“Reaching the Younger Generation” – There is often a tragic disconnect between the older and younger generations. The older generations feel helpless as they watch teenagers walk away from God, yet are unable to understand or effectively communicate with the young adult. In this talk I speak on behalf of the younger generation and help explain what makes the Millennial generation “tick.” This has always been a very encouraging experience. The younger generation matters too much not to reach out to them at all costs!
“When Worlds Collide” – It is estimated that almost 70% of Christian teenagers walk away from their faith when they graduate high school. The pressing question is why? Based on his book When Worlds Collide: Stepping Up and Standing Out in an Anti-God Culture, Daniel encourages and equips young adults to stand firm in their Christian faith so that they aren’t blindsided when they leave for college and enter into a world that is hostile to their faith. Great for both young adults or parents/grand-parents of young adults.
“Experiencing God/Legacy” – All of us are either continuing or beginning a Christian legacy. As a fourth generation Christian speaker/writer, I share from my experience of growing up as the second-oldest grandchild of Henry Blackaby and all the pressures that resulted. Moreno, I share what God has taught me it means to be a part of a starting or continuing a legacy.
“Worldview/Apologetics” – More than ever Christian teenagers are faced with challenging questions from their non-beleving peers. Sadly, too often the Christian is left tongue-tied and full of doubt. Built on my PhD studies in the area of worldview/apologetics as well as his experience working with youth/college, I tackle some of the popular objections to the Christian faith and teach how the Bible and Christian theologians provide answers. 1 Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”
