I’m currently confined to my bed with flu-like symptoms. Arg. Every ounce of my body is throbbing. But I thought, while I’m just sitting here wallowing, I’d give you a glance ahead as far as my writing in the next few months.
1. Earthly Trinity
Obviously the biggie on my plate is getting the last book in the Lost City Chronicles finished. The manuscript is about 95% done in rough form and in the hands of my editor, undoubtedly being torn to shreds. Getting the book to this point was a mentally and physically draining process so I haven’t even touched the manuscript in almost a month. The break was much needed. However, In the last week or so the story has been creeping back into my mind. I’m ready to get back at it and conquer this beast. The editing process will start late next week. I’ve gotten several messages lately asking when the release date will be and I can tell you with upmost confidence that…I have no idea. 🙁 But know I will be working as hard as I can to get it out as soon as humanly possible. There’s a lot of behind the scenes stuff that must happened first that bogs the process down but it won’t be much longer. Thanks for all your patience!
2. Heroes Reborn
I’ve previously mentioned that, although my primary focus is Earthly Trinity, I’ve been moving forward with my next story. I’m really excited about it. As of now I’m in the world-building phase. I have several pages of character notes, history timelines, world details, and a basic plot structure. It has the potential to be an epic fantasy tale. Last year I read through the Wheel of Time saga, the Song of Fire and Ice series, some Terry Brooks, and some Terry Goodkind. My love for epic, sprawling sagas and fantastical worlds and creatures has been rekindled. As of now Heroes Reborn will be a stand-alone tale acting as a potential gateway into a much more sprawling saga. Won’t be much movement on this front until #1 is finished, but something to look forward to in the near future 🙂
Until next time,
